Shalom Chaverim,
We’ve come to the end of a grueling election cycle. It has taken a lot out of us and a lot out of the soul of our country. We all intuitively knew that regardless of the outcome, it would likely produce continued angst, distress, and a widening of the divide.
And . . . there is much to be concerned about with the recent events in Israel and the response of the Israeli people.
The best spiritual medicine we can take right now is to turn away from the news, take our finger off the doom scrolling, and put down our devices. If we are disturbed by the depth of this divide in our country, the most immediate and wholesome remedy is to stop peering into the darkness that separates us. Instead, let us turn toward each other and engage in something real and nourishing.
Take a walk.
Witness the electricity of the fall leaves.
Bake.
Listen to your favorite music.
Read a poem, heck write a poem.
Make soup.
Rest.
Pick up the phone.
Meet a friend for coffee.
Take cleansing breaths.
Amplify what’s good, close, and real.
Start now.
If you would like spiritual guidance, I am available. We need each other. Remember to step out of yourself and connect, connect, connect.
